Boreham Wood's playoff dreams were shattered by Rochdale's dramatic win in the National League playoff final. The match, held at Wembley, saw Rochdale come from two goals down to snatch a 2-2 draw and force extra time. Boreham Wood looked in control with just over 20 minutes left through goals from Matt Rush and Abdul Abdulmalik. However, Tyler Smith pulled one back and Emmanuel Dieseruvwe equalised deep into added time to force extra time. In the shootout, Rochdale keeper Oliver Whatmuff saved two penalties with his teammates putting away all three penalties. Cameron Coxe hit the bar with Boreham's fourth spot kick. The win marked a dramatic turn of events for Rochdale, who were relegated three years ago after 102 years as a Football League club. Boreham Wood, on the other hand, were seconds away from reaching the fourth tier for the first time. Reporting by Trevor Stynes, editing by Pritha Sarkar.
