Boreham Wood's match against York City this weekend has been postponed after a failed pitch inspection at Meadow Park. The playing surface was deemed unsafe for the players, following consultation from match officials. Both York and Boreham Wood had confirmed an early pitch inspection would take place, with frost expected overnight in Hertfordshire. Boreham Wood had been looking to build on their momentum, having won five matches on the trot in their league campaign, including a hard-fought 2-1 win against Solihull Moors. Luke Garrard's side had moved into the summit after Rochdale lost 2-0 to Hartlepool. York City, on the other hand, had earned an important 2-1 victory at Altrincham on Tuesday. The rearranged fixture is now likely to be a midweek game, with a new date to be confirmed in due course. Boreham Wood will continue their Emirates FA Cup journey next weekend, hosting Sky Bet League One outfit Burton Albion. York City will next be in action on January 10, as they make the long journey down to Sutton United.
